A Message for all M&B multiplayer: Administrator from China will ban you 10 years on their sole decision with China's censorship.
TL;DR
TaleWorlds granted full control of the server to administrator in China and now they have begin to abuse their power as administrator. All players fall victim to this censorship - it does not matter which server you are playing, or which part of the world you live in; as long as you are suspected violating the censorship in China (which only apply to China), you will be ban without any warning. They don't just base the decision on your in-game interaction. Your steam ID or profile picture alone is enough for them to justified the cause to ban.
To make matter worse, they don't do it in a systematic approach but relying on forum reporting.
So if you did not share their point-of-view, you are subject to this banning.
Long Version:
Apparently, players in China contribute 50,000 copies of Bannerlord and that's the reason I guess why TaleWorlds granted the admin role of the server to a community known as "騎砍中文站" ("M&B Chinese Official Forum").
The forum administrator is given every right to ban any player they seem fit.
The problem is, the admins are not just banning people for the usual forbidden behavior such as hacking or bullying. In fact, they'll ban you for mentioning things that's consider sensitive under China's censorship, such as "Xi JingPin", "Winnie the Pooh", "8964", "Wuhan Virus", "Free HongKong", "Free Tibet".
Please do note that China's censorship doesn't NOT applied to all of the Asia-Pacific, this essentially puts everyone into China's censorship and jeopardize the freedom of speech, which is protect elsewhere but China.
For example, using Xi JingPin as your avatar has been reported and banned. This is justified according to China's regulation, which tangling with the chairman's portrait is an illegal act. However this is not the case outside of China.
Above is the ID who get banned for Ten years
China doesn't own this game nor the server! This is a game made by a turkey company and published via Steam with the server target to all of Southeast Asia. These banning would be fine if the server is only targeting players in China.
The censorship from the CCP (Chinese Communist Party, a.k.a. CPC, Communist Party of China) is now being carry out in the servers that's intended for everyone to enjoy.
You might think "Hey I don't care. I don't play with Chinese nor do I play in the EA server. Why should I care about this?"
Well, the "banning standard" they post is just several days old. It's not there when I brought the game and I am not aware of it because the game did not state this is subject to China's censorship.
The rules they set applies to everyone and have no respect to other jurisdiction other than China.
As the picture shown above, a Chinese ask if the censorship applies to the foreigners.
The administrator answered "Yes".
Thus to our understanding, every players take part in multiplayer are all subject to China's censorship at this point.
This isn't right and has to stop
We are not just talking about Bannerlord or TaleWorlds. Many companies such as Blizzard gives way to China and has implemented restriction on freedom of speech as instructed by China. If we stay silence like the way China wants us to, we are not far away from getting China censorship in every single game.
If you wish to be free of China's censorship, please help by following these steps:
> 1.@TaleWorlds developers and ask them why the game is China censorshipped
> 2. Let others know before it's too late to change anything.
> 3.Tag the ones who are influencer, Youtubers, famous people who are interest in freedom of speech, tell them the crisis we are facing right now.
Unlike China censorship, everyone is free to comment, make videos and write about this post.
Thank you for your reading:)
