Hung Fook Tong has raised its prices TREMENDOUSLY.
The Siu-maai now costs $15 for 10! (used to be $10 for 8)
I took a look at soups and they all cost $50 or more.
$48 soups are no longer seen.
But the rise in Siu-maai price is just UNACCEPTABLE.
It's almost IMMORAL.
A new peach-and-milk mousse cake is displayed at Arome Bakery.
I plucked up my courage to ask the male shop assistant:
"Is the topping coconut flakes?"
"Yup. And peach as well."
My eyebrows dropped from curiosity (and a slim trace of hope)
back to their regular position as I thanked him and walked away.
Coconut flakes (摳摳那肥力絲)
are only good when wrapped in Chinese traditional candy-and-coconut wraps.
They would never make a nice cake on top of peach-and-milk mousse.
Never.
